You heard me, go fly a kite!
Someone in the DC area is asking folks to come down to the National Mall on August 4 from 1-4PM to fly a rainbow kite with others to quietly demonstrate that there are US citizens who are also GLBT.
If you head to the mall tomorrow (July 28) between 2 and 4 PM, you can pick up some flyers and a free kite from this person as well. The kites being given out are 30 inch diamond kites made of ripstop nylon so these are nice kites, so it's very generous that they are doing this.
I intend to participate in this, not only for the idea behind it, but because it's fun to fly a kite. Maybe I'll see you there.
