A space to post my thoughts and musings about anything. This includes but is not limited to community, politics, current events, relationships, LGBTQ+ issues, favorite things, and stuff that would make your dead relatives blush. I am not afraid to go there, as some can attest.

Kansas Snapshot

Kansas in Focus: Census Bureau Pre-Caucus Snapshot

About 64 percent of Kansas’ voting-age citizens cast a ballot in the 2004 general election, the same as the national rate. As one of the 24 states holding “Super Tuesday” presidential primaries or caucuses on Feb. 5, Kansas’ 2007 population of 2.8 million includes a higher percentage of the non-Hispanic white-alone population and a lower percentage of Hispanics and blacks than the nation as a whole, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics.

These and other statistics about Kansas’ population on topics ranging from language spoken to commute times can be found in the American FactFinder section of the Census Bureau Web site <http://factfinder.census.gov/>. More information about the nation’s voting record can be found in Voting and Registration in the Election of November 2004 at <http://www.census.gov/population/www/socdemo/voting.html>
