Utah in Focus: Census Bureau Pre-Primary Snapshot
As one of the 24 states holding “Super Tuesday” presidential primaries or caucuses on Feb. 5, Utah’s 2007 population of about 2.6 million includes a higher percentage of whites, a lower percentage blacks, and a lower percentage of Hispanics than the nation as a whole, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics.
About 68 percent of Utah’s voting-age citizens cast a ballot in the 2004 general election. The national rate was 64 percent.
