Well there's been another casualty of my personal items thanks to the pissing kitty, this time it's my sleeping bag. There's no way I'll be able to save that one.
*ugh, I'd really say something to him about the cat and ask if there's anything he can do to curb it. How will it look when they're signing him out of the apartment and there's cat piss all over carpet and walls?
I do have a sleeping bag which you are welcome to examine and if you like, you can have it for an extremely discounted price. I bought it on super-sale and I've never used it, so having it off my hands would be just fine. :)
I wish I would have read this earlier. There is a way to properly clean most anything that has been "pee'ed" on by cats.
Just in case, it happens again or if you know anyone that this will happen too, here is my advice.
1) was it once with cold water and regular detergent and plain white vinegar
2) let it air dry, then wash it with warm or hot water (depending on the fabric) and use something similar to Oxyclean and a couple of table spoons of pure lemon juice. then dry on a gentle cycle in the drier.
This should not only take away the cat smell but also any enzymes left behind and leave a fresh scent
