The Fantasticks

Any of you who have known me in New Mexico and the DC area know that I pretty much go around with some semblance of facial hair.  Usually it's a goatee, sometimes more towards a full beard, but I pretty much stick with it.  However, there are times where one has to shave when it is called for, and this is one of those times.

I will be in a production of The Fantasticks, which opens up this Friday night.  It's a romantic comedy about a boy and a girl who live next door to one another and are in love, but their fathers are currently feuding and have built a wall between their houses.  Of course, there's much more to the story than that, but if you want to find out, you have to see it.  It's famous for being Broadway's longest running musical.  I will be playing Matt, who is the young man in love with the girl next door and thinks he knows it all, but he's going to end up learning a few lessons in the show.

We have a very good cast of folks working in the show, a few veterans of the St. Georges Players and Prince Georges Little Theater, and some newcomers as well.  There's confetti, there's moonlight, and plenty of singing all around as well.  I don't think you'll be disappointed if you come to see the show.

The show will run May 21, 22, 28, and 29 at 8 PM and May 23 and 30 at 3 PM at St. Georges Episcopal Church in Glenn Dale, MD.  Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 students and seniors.  I hope that you can come out and see it, it should be a delight.
